This test, known as DNA sexing, is used to determine the sex of birds, particularly when sexual dimorphism is absent in juvenile stages or adulthood, making it difficult to identify the sex based on physical appearance alone. The test uses molecular markers to provide a fast and accurate result with minimal stress to the birds, as it only requires a small blood sample.   Key Details: - Sample Type: Only dry blood samples are accepted (1-2 drops on a printable sample form). Please limit te drop-down menu. - Turnaround Time: Results will be provided 24 hours after the lab receives the samples via FedEx. Samples sent on Fridays will have results available the following Monday. - Shipping Process: Samples must be sent using our FedEx Overnight prepaid service only, which takes 1 day for delivery. - Results Access: Results will be sent by email. Customers can also access the results through their account on the IQ Birdtesting website.
